These mornings are always a great way to meet other like-minded people who care about protecting the integrity of our beautiful but sensitive coastal dunes.
Woorim’s dunes are some of the few in South East Queensland that have not succumbed to the installation of hard engineering solutions in order to defend the built environment.
Planting and growing the dunes seaward helps to provide a strong natural defence against storm events and to prevent the need for costly and ugly rock walls, groynes, sandbagging, etc. that destroy forever the natural beach ecology and rebuilding processes.
