Residents have called for an urgent rethink on tourism on Bribie Island, north of Brisbane, with increased traffic clogging the bridge to the mainland and putting turtle hatchlings at risk along the beach.

- Accidents can block the Bribie Island bridge and nearby roads for hour
- Environmentalists do not want a new bridge, but a reduction in day-trippers, including 4WD vehicles on beaches
