Preparing submissions for Government Grants, administering the projects, and reporting.
Responding to alerts from the public of environmental issues such as danger to wildlife, tree or vegetation removal, etc. Going on site to assess and report issue to relevant Authority and encouraging public to do so.
Hosting an annual Wonders of the Wallum Wildflower Walk as part of the Sunshine Coast Spring Wildflower Festival.
Meeting on site with State and/or Local Government representatives and public re critical issues including environmental impacts of proposed development applications.
Hosting stall at monthly Rotary Market on Bribie Island.
Meeting with Federal and State Ministers and Members of Parliament and supplying them with illustrated material. Meeting regularly with our local Councillor.
Participating in Clean Up Australia Day.
At election time, meeting with all local candidates.
Celebrating Environment Days – World Wetlands Day, National Tree Day, World Environment Day, World Migratory Bird Day, World Turtle Day etc. including hosting BIEPA stall at events by other Environment Groups.
Responding to requests from the public for information on environmental issues on Bribie Island and making presentations to community groups.
Sponsoring the annual Matthew Flinders Next Gen Art award for Art made from Recycled Materials.
Donating annual Environment Awards to schools on Bribie Island and mentoring school and university students with environmental projects.
